I wasn’t always this good looking bloke you see in this picture here. I was obese and constantly sick, which I let myself down to believe that being big and round was just a shape, and being sick was just part of life. On top of that, I had a corporate IT career spanning 10 years where I sat down 8+ hours a day – heavily sedentary for 10 years! But thankfully, somewhere in that 10 years I realised that I was my cutting my life expectancy very short and became less sedentary.

I was at my heaviest when I was 21 and weighed in at 115kg – I definitely had to change. I started out with martial arts training in Kung Fu, dabbled into bodybuilding stuff in a regular gym, and picked up some Muay Thai kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu down the track.

Beyond the training, I did my own research into nutrition and played around with things and my body was a lab experiment, and from that I learnt some things worked and others didn’t, a one-size fits all approach doesn’t work for everybody. It has been a rocky journey where my weight loss progress went up or down or stalled, but eventually was able to drop a total of at least 30kg and a whole heap of experiences and anecdotes.

I came across 365 Performance through my high school friend Vu, who happens to be a coach there. I joined up and found workouts to be challenging, engaging, and varied to keep me on my toes. Through effective program design and close support and rapport, I got so much more fitter and stronger than I was before!

Having experienced the 365 Performance environment and culture for a few years and then coupling that with my weight loss experience, it was a natural choice for me to become a coach and share my knowledge and help people become healthier, fitter, stronger and happier than before, and also returning what I gained back to the community.
